Most travelers visit Bhutan with organized groups operated
by foreign or local tour operators. While it is possible
to arrange private visits, it is mandatory to have a predetermined
itinerary and visa permission before one is allowed to
enter the kingdom.
This policy of regulated tourism has been credited with
helping to preserve the culture and environment of Bhutan.
